Chapter 10

In this chapter the author talks to us about self discipline. No one is going to look up to someone who doesn't show this trait.. Especially if they claim to be a leader in worship. Most people struggle with this and won't even fully realize it. Self discipline is literally having control over your actions, being mature and acting in a seasonable manner that isn't harmful to yourself or others. It's so important that we hold ourselves accountable.

I think for me personally I will see that I'm not holding myself accountable or someone else will tell me. Like we all have this issue of not keeping ourselves fully in check. I do however think about my actions and I consciously think about how I am behaving and if what I'm doing isn't in my best personal interest or if in hurting someone else by my actions. Yeah.. God gave us free will, but we need to be responsible and use it on some way to show him praise.

Chapter 9

So.. There comes a point where we need to know that this is only about our relationship with God more than it is about being a worship leader. He talked about being lose with our role as a worship leader because this is truly all about God. We can do our jobs but we need to know that it's not something we need to hold onto so tight that we begin to value our position more than God.
I can relate to this because sometimes it's easy to get caught up with what we do and who we are and forget what our true purpose is in being a worship leader. I'm going to work on being lose and just relaxing. I'm really bad at just relaxing as I'm a very stressful type of person. So it's time I was more lose with my position and just gave my all to God in the moment.

Chapter 8

In a sense being mature is important to help lead other to worship. God calls us to be mature so we can be responsible. Being mature ties into many other aspects of life and it affects your morals. You need to be spiritually mature in order to be a serious leader. Your maturity affects your relationship with God. Being mature will also affect how others view your faith.
My level of maturity with the Lord could definitely use improvement. I have trouble sometimes making God a priority. My relationship with God is strong but I need to work on leading others to him also.

Chapter 6

Show thanks and give thanks. Imagine showing everyday how thankful you are to be alive and living in God's world. Challenge ourselves to be thankful in our daily life. If we are more thankful we can be more present in worship. Make being thankful a habit because if you're not thankful all the time it hard to worship.

My take on this.. Is exactly that. We need to be more thankful. Let's be honest how often are actually taking the time to be thankful. 😊

Chapter 5

Living the life of worship to me is... When you're the epitome of a follower. Your everyday should be full of Gods grace and full praise. When we come to church at the end of the week we need to be able to culminate our week and give worship at Church. Like I don't think many people can say they are FOLLOWERS of Jesus.

In all we need to be able to follow Jesus like in the Bible. Cast out everything else that is pulling you away from God's holiness and persue him with all your heart. Take something away from this and make a difference in your life. Be that person that gives their life to Jesus. Take the time to be alone and just read the Bible and get to know your true faith. I promise that it is worth it.

Chapter 4

In our lives there should be no exceptions of not coming to God. We should strive to be like the Levites from the 12 tribes of Israel. Our goal is ultimately to help lead people into worship. How can we do that if we aren't devoted for even that small period of time at the least. Be honest with yourself and know who you are. Are you like the Levites in any way? Are you willing to try and be like them? If you are then going down the right path. If you aren't, find out how you can be.

I agree with what he is trying to say. To be honest I can struggle with this.. No one ever is going to be 100% like the Levites in this culture we have now. But in our little time we have to worship.. We NEED to be completely giving ourselves to the Lord.

Chapter 3

This chapter is about being humble. First let me define it. Humble: having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance.
To truly be a worship leader we need to let go of your self righteousness and show our weaknesses. We have to be vulnerable and completely open. No one is going to want to listen to you if you're being conceded. It's important to be humble so people can feel equal around you and want you to lead them.

I have to say that I completely agree with this. I've seen so many speaks that are just totally full of themselves. I lose interest so fast and instantly begin to question them and why they think they can just push people to the Lord. You're supposed to help LEAD people in WORSHIP. I can't emphasize enough that it's not a competition.
